Rt. Hon. Sir Tony Baldry

Rt. Hon. Sir Tony Baldry was a Member of Parliament for 33 years (elected in 1982). He was knighted for political and public services in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2012: Sir Tony was a Minister for some eight years, appointed to Government by Margaret Thatcher, and then served in the Conservative Government throughout the whole of John Major’s premiership. During the 2001-2005 Parliament, he chaired the Commons Select Committee on International Development and continues to take a close interest in International Development and Foreign Affairs. Sir Tony is a practising Barrister, Head of a commercial Set of Chambers in the Temple.

He held various ministerial posts from January 1990 until the 1997 General Election:

Whilst a Minister, Sir Tony led numerous overseas business export missions which won millions of pounds of orders for UK plc. He was Personal Aide to Margaret Thatcher in the October 1974 General Election and subsequently remained in her private office when she became Leader of the Opposition.

Sir Tony first visited Somaliland in 2003 and has visited Somaliland on numerous occasions since.

Sir Tony is a practising Barrister and Head of a set of commercial Chambers, 1 Essex Court, in the Temple where he specialises primarily in Commercial and International Law. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Mediator. He is a member of the International Bar Association.

Sir Tony has a Master of Arts Degree in International Development and a Bachelor of Law Degree, both from the University of Sussex.

Yussuf Ahmed
Executive Finance Director

Yussuf has been working in the voluntary sector for over 25 years and during this period has gained extensive experience with voluntary organisations, these include providing advice and information to Somali, Kenyan, Ethiopian, Sri Lankan, Ugandan, Algerian, Rwandan, Iraqi, Kurdish and Nigerian refugees, staff management and contract negotiation.

Yussuf has gained project management skills over the course of his career, as well as leadership skills to represent community issues, in both the voluntary and statutory sectors.

Yussuf is currently the coordinator of Islington Somali Community and has been for over 15 years.

Mohamed A Mohamed
Managing Director

Mohamed has lived in the United Kingdom since 1982. He achieved all of his post graduate studies in the United Kingdom and worked in Schools, F.E colleges, H.E Colleges and local authorities. Mohamed is currently the chief executive of Easy Housing Association.

Mohamed has used his vast knowledge to help the black community in many areas of London, whilst also voluntarily being the Chairman of Horn Response, a mental health agency in Brent and Harrow, and the Chairman of the Steering group for the Somali Mental Health Advocate Mind in Harrow.

Mohamed’s many educational achievements are: BA honours in education, History & Geography, Post-Graduate Certificate in Post Compulsory Education Teaching, Graduate Certificate in Museum Curatorship, and a Masters in Manchester University Museum (Research based on the Prehistoric Cultures of the Horn of Africa)

Mohamed has spent most of his working life helping others, including Somali lessons for Foreign and Commonwealth Office personnel.

Ian Fenwick
Chief Executive Officer

Ian has been a salesman, entrepreneur and dealmaker for nearly 40 years, the wealth of experience Ian has gained over the years has given him a unique natural vision and ability to recognise and create business opportunities where many others fail to look.

Ian visited Somaliland several times to research, plan and prepare for an historic ground breaking new vision for Anglo Somaliland Resources.

Within the companies Ian worked for it has become apparent that his grade of salesmanship and deal making is of the highest calibre.

Many certificates of sales his achievements are displayed in the ASR head office.

Hugh Craen
Company Secretary

Hugh has nearly 40 years experience in both financing businesses and running businesses.
He has seen business from both sides. As a lender, understanding the requirements of the customer structuring customer finances to suit individual needs and requirement and as borrower where I had to present funding and capital raising proposals in order to launch businesses.

During a long career as Director for Business and Financial Solutions, Potential Finance Group Plc and Singer & Friedlander Bank Hugh gained an excellent knowledge effective governance, compliance procedures and company administration.

Graham Sargood (BSc. MSc.)
Chief Investment Officer

Graham is an Entrepreneur and Executive with 25 years experience in Technology companies and start-ups.

He is a sought after consultant and advisor, and has worked extensively in strategy, finance, technology, operations and product development with companies such as, NTL, Telewest, Wanadoo (France Telecom), Monaco Telecom, C&W communications, MSP (Music Industry CEO), Deloitte, Francisco Partners (Private Equity), Virgin Media and most recently Sky.

He has been involved in the ‘’Inception through to sale’’ of several start-ups, has extensive experience in raising money for start-ups and has sat on the Advisory Board and Board of Directors of several businesses internationally

Christopher Livingston-Campbell
Chief Commercial Officer

Christopher is an executive with over 16 years of diverse experience and success in driving strategic business growth through the provision of  investment strategies and daily operational management.

Christopher brings to the business a hands-on legal, accounting and entrepreneurial experience with expertise in granting and managing licensing rights as well as developing custom solutions to corporate challenges.

Christopher holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law and a BA Honours in Business and Finance.

Thomas Nordgren (BA. MBA.)
Operations Director Asia

Thomas has worked in the banking industry for 37 in  several sales and marketing positions in bank owned finance houses including Xerox Credit as VP and has since 1991 been MD and later CEO for American and Swedish finance houses. In later years he served as a Board, he is presently a Board Director of a few international companies.

He has started companies in 17 countries in Europe, Asian and the USA.

His current drive is to market green tech and sustainable investment projects in Somaliland in China, Hong Kong and throughout Asia.

Thomas is a world traveller and sailor, he climbs mountains, been on expeditions in the Amazon and is ready for his first visit to Somaliland early in 2018.

Hollie Puttock
UK Office and Administrator Manager

Hollie has worked with her twin sister Becky in the Telecom and data industry for 16 years.

Taking on many roles including, account management, sales, office management and administration and all company accounts.

As Managing Director of the family business Hollie recruited and managed ateam of 12 staff and contractors.

Becky Novis
Research and Development Manager

Becky has 16 years experience in the telecom and data industry.

Starting her career in an administrator role, to move on to 6 years of billing and development manager before starting her family.

Returning from maternity leave to take a prominent role in sales and networking along with market research to keep up with new products and services in the industry.

In the last 2 years Becky was the main administrator for a Government contract in the family business.
